Thirty-six small cards, and none of them mysterious. For Tarot readers, Lenormand can feel almost too plain at first, until two cards land side by side and read as a sentence. This introduction covers the deck's roots in emblem books, coffee-ground reading and a 1799 parlour game, why the Lenormand Moon is not the Tarot Moon, and a ten-minute exercise you can try this afternoon, drawn from the teaching of Mary K. Greer. Explore our Lenormand courses.
